GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE

Although July and August are typically slow months, I am happy to report that members have been utilizing the Club. Our first Lobster Fest which was held on Thursday, July 7th, was well attended. Joel and his staff have created a wonderful menu featuring fresh lobster and other menu items from which to choose. If you have not yet attended Lobster Fest, it is a great way to treat family and friends to a feast that they will never forget.

The Club participated in the 17th Annual Father Bill’s Food Fest on July 26th. Joel, Peggy, Sergio, Robson and I represented the Club. The weather was a little cooler compared to previous years so we did not have to battle the elements this year. We were rewarded by the many compliments that we received! As in the past there was a great turnout and it is always nice to donate our time and energies for such an important cause.

I would like to welcome our new House Committee members.

In July’s newsletter the Committee members had not been announced. Welcome, Peter and Pat Donadio, Kevin and Linda Mantville, Fran White, Richard Meade, Pat McKelvey and Kathy Galvin. I know Chairman Sean Galvin and his Committee members will be a great asset to the Club.

I hope that you are all having a wonderful, relaxing summer.

Best Wishes,
Marty

Adams Houses Trolley Tour

Thursday , September 15th
10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Adams House

The Old House, built in 1731, became the residence of the Adams family for four generations
from 1788 to 1927. It was home to Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams; First
Ladies Abigail and Louisa Catherine Adams; Civil War Minister to Great Britain Charles
Francis Adams; and literary historians Henry and Brooks Adams. The vast collection of
original artifacts inside the Old House greatly assists the park’s interpretive staff to relate the
Adams family’s legacy of service to their nation. Adjacent to the house is the Stone Library,
built in 1873, it contains more than 14,000 books that belonged to the Adamses. The
grounds include a historic orchard and an 18th-century style formal garden, containing
thousands of annual and perennial flowers.
